Professor Paul Lee is an internationally recognised consultant regenerative orthopaedic surgeon and Founding President of I AM Regen, specialising in cartilage repair, joint preservation, sports injuries and regenerative orthopaedics. He founded the London Cartilage Clinic on Harley Street — an ICRS Teaching Centre of Excellence — and MSK Doctors in Lincolnshire, integrating advanced imaging, artificial intelligence and regenerative therapies into patient care. His practice is built around a single question: can the joint still be saved before replacement?
He has pioneered a ladder of cartilage-regeneration techniques that progressively remove barriers to treatment — from two-stage ACI and MACI, to his single-stage STACi, which removes the need for a laboratory, and now Nano-ACi, which removes the need for an operating theatre and brings cartilage regeneration to the bedside. He is an expert in cartilage autograft, BMAC, PRF, mFat, SVF, exosomes and ChondroFiller (Liquid Cartilage), and was the first surgeon in the UK to use Arthrosamid for knee osteoarthritis, with more than 1,000 treatments.
A surgeon, scientist and engineer, Professor Lee holds a PhD in Medical Engineering and is Honorary Professor of Sports Medicine at the University of Lincoln. He has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, is Editor-in-Chief of Springer Nature’s Musculoskeletal Regeneration Medicine, and is author of the Amazon #1 bestseller Regeneration by Design and his new book Practical Regeneration.
